Colin received his doctorate in 2025 from the Institute for Control Engineering of Machine Tools and Manufacturing Units (ISW) at the University of Stuttgart. For more than seven years, he worked there as a research assistant and group leader for mechatronic systems and processes. He has worked on various research and industry projects focused on digital transformation, including software-defined manufacturing and data-driven process optimization.
Colin is interested in the intersection of industrial automation and modern information technology. Leveraging his expertise in control engineering, data analysis, and system integration, he is spearheading the development of innovative Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications.

Frederik received his doctorate in 2022 from the Institute for Control Engineering of Machine Tools and Manufacturing Units (ISW) at the University of Stuttgart. From 2022 to mid-2025, in addition to founding Collectu, he also worked as a research coordinator at ARENA2036. There, he collaborated with research and industry partners on solutions for future digital value creation.
Frederik focuses on developing and implementing digital business models and integrating modern Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technologies into industrial value creation processes. His experience coordinating interdisciplinary research projects and collaborating closely with industry partners has given him a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation.
About Us
The development of Collectu began in 2020 to address the everyday challenges of automation. At the Institute for Control Engineering of Machine Tools and Manufacturing Units at the University of Stuttgart, Colin and Frederik focused on creating innovative solutions for seamless integration and communication across different interfaces and systems. Projects with Collectu not only streamlined automation processes, but also incorporated cutting-edge machine learning algorithms to improve decision-making and the adaptability of different manufacturing processes.
